As we enter Kingdom of Ash, part one, one might be scared that we are left with mere embers from a princess who loved her kingdom very much. Our court is rallying unlikely allies, fighting til their last breath, battling enemies – AND EACH OTHER, and trying to save their world from not one, but two Valg menaces. Aelin’s battles are internal, and it may seem like her light is BLINKING (🥺)out… but, by the end of part one, that small flame will become an inferno, and she is herself once more. We’re definitely crying. And as if that wasn’t enough, we’re also crying over Mary Cosby’s loss in the season premiere of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Alana is introduced to the housewives and is beginning to form her opinions with no peek into the previous seasons – yet. Suffice to say, she will have a lot more to say soon! And onboard Below Deck Mediterranean, more fires are being stoked as Nathan is confronted by Captain Sandy for his disastrous decisions, and she picks Joe to drive the boat, further fanning the flames. Gen risks a fire by poking Joy with a laundry “mishap”, and she continues stoking fires as she sends *just one* text message. Here’s hoping the yacht will not burn down. We’ve finished the tandem read, or did the tandem read finish us? It’s really hard to tell… but almost every one is in shambles, and left in the dark about a LOT of new and imperative information. In Tower of Dawn chapters 43 - Fireheart, Chaol, Yrene, Nesryn, and Sartaq are all armed with information that the rest of the group desperately need to hear. Whether it’s about the real identities of their enemies, relationships galore, family lineage, or the world needing more healers –they are going to have tea to spill when (or if) they regroup. In Empire of Storms chapters 57-75, everyone was once again left in the dark about Aelin’s plans, Elena finally admits to all the plans she had been keeping Aelin in the dark about, and now Aelin is quite literally left in the dark. In a box. Without magic. Alone. 💔 Do we think she’s learned the consequences leaving her friends in the dark yet, or…? There was also a LOT of love (maybe too much for us) in both books, but there is no love lost over with the Below Deck Mediterranean crew in episodes 13-14, as once friends, lovers, and crewmate relationships are all falling apart because of some goings on that have been kept in the dark. Next week, we’re diving into part one of Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas and because Sinn and ALL OF YOU LOVELY PEOPLE bullied Alana, we will be diving into the Bravo’s Real Housewives of Salt Lake City premiere and episode 15 of Below Deck Med. War is at our doorsteps as we continue to tandem read Sarah J Maas’ Tower of Dawn (chapters 13-42) and Empire of Storms (chapters 19-56). Old enemies, new allies, dead ancestors, and perhaps some frenemies? They all have to pick sides and stand up for what they believe in – and Chaol literally stands! Literally and figuratively! He takes a stand on his feelings, on his mission, and on his wet noodle behaviour. Maybe a bit too late because Sinn finally sees what Alana has been seeing clearly for the past 5 books and may no longer choose to stand up for Chaol. Ever again. And on the business of red flags and standing on business… the Love Island season 8 cast are back for their reunion. Everyone stood up for what they believed, regardless of glaring evidence and receipts that would have us question their positions. But hey, people love commitment to the cause, right? 🙄 While we loved what we got, we SINCEREly needed a little more ownership of actions and a little less sass. Alas, what a way to end the summer. The tandem is TANDEMING as we switch between Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas. This episode leaves us at the end of chapter 18 in EOS and 12 in TOD, and our GOODNESS is a lot already happening! We are politicking across the land trying to raise an army while fighting MANY battles in one book, and trying to heal all kinds of wounds in the next. Speaking of? Many battles are being fought in Netflix's Let's Marry Harry -- but there doesn't seem to be ANY healing coming this way. One might say many wounds were opened and left that way. We finished off episodes 5-8 and then gasped, gusped, and gaped at all the revelations in the reunion. A bouquet should be tossed over to Bravo's Below Deck Mediterranean, where Aesha has a surprise bachelorette party that brings us familiar faces, secretive chats, and noods. We MAXed out the drama this episode, and MAX drama still pending...

We’re wrapping up part two of Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas, episode 11 of Below Deck Mediterranean, and we watched the first 4 episodes of Netflix’s Let’s Marry Harry based on your feedback. Truly, the tides are seemingly turning on all fronts. In the Throne of Glass world, a lot of relationships have made MAASIVE shifts – shapeshifts, if you will hehe. And we have finally laid Celaena Sardothien to rest as Aelin Galathynius makes her way towards Terrassen, to claim her throne. Speaking of sitting on thrones, Harry Jowsey is being treated like a King as he sits in his castle with 20 ladies, in search of a wife. We are genuinely confused and wishing everyone well, but wary about it. Finally, the tides are turning AND DRAGGING ANCHOR as the cast of Below Deck Med welcome a friendly face, Max, and some unhappy charter guests. From potential new love triangles and many different food preferences, it’s wild to see what is or isn’t cooking on this week’s episode! We are back in Rifthold in part one of Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas -- and there are a lot of twosome relationships that we've been dissecting and disagreeing on. We wouldn't have it any other way! Whether it's Chaol vs Aelin, Aelin vs Arobynn, Rowan vs Aedion, Chaol vs Himself, it's been a bumpy ride for all these former allies. And in keeping with the theme... relationships are mostly a mess in Netflix's The Ultimatum, where we wonder how this process could get anyone down the aisle, happy and healthy?! Lastly, the twosomes of Below Deck are also struggling as Cooper and Kat disconnect, Gen is still feeling the impact of Luke, and it really just seems like everyone is playing some stupid games, while we comment on the so called "prizes".

We're wrapping up Heir of Fire (chapters 45 to the end!) and what an emotionally ending it was! We've been weeping, getting goosebumps, and changing our minds about a lot of characters -- and dare we say, grateful Celaena's time away from Rifthold? Can't wait to discuss her fiery return to Rifthold in Queen of Shadows next week! And speaking of time away, we are all caught up on the newest season of Below Deck Med and the season has begun with quite the splash... ew, that worked on a lot of levels 😂.
