• Keys and Minimalist Beauty
    Mar 2 2026

Hey, it's Bob, Today, let’s connect Keys to the idea of minimalist beauty.

Minimalist beauty is about owning fewer products that do more—and using them consistently. It rejects the clutter of a dozen half-used bottles under the sink in favor of a compact, trusted toolkit.

Keys was designed with multi-functionality in mind. Island Rx can serve as face wash, body wash, and gentle shampoo. Luminos functions as both moisturizer and makeup base. Tortuga is hand cream, body cream, foot cream, and spot treatment in one. Nextra Body covers whole-body anti-aging instead of separate “neck cream,” “body serum,” and “firming lotion.”

This doesn’t just simplify your bathroom shelf; it simplifies your mind. When your routine is clear and your products are trustworthy, skincare becomes a calm ritual, not a confusing chore.

If you’re attracted to owning less but better, Keys fits naturally into that lifestyle.

Fewer, better products—used daily—create more impact than a cabinet full of maybes.

  • Teen and Young Adult Skin
    Feb 27 2026

Hey, it's Bob, Today’s focus is teen and young adult skin, which often struggles with oiliness, breakouts, and sensitivity.

The common reaction is to attack with harsh acne washes and drying treatments. That can backfire by over-stripping the skin, causing more oil production and inflammation. A better approach is gentle balancing.

Island Rx is excellent for young, breakout-prone skin because it removes excess oil and debris without aggressive chemicals. It also includes beneficial essential oils, like clary sage, that help support clearer skin. Keeping the barrier intact actually reduces reactivity and can lessen breakouts over time.

For moisture, a thin layer of Luminos is usually enough, even for oilier skin. Despite containing oils, it’s non-greasy and supports healing rather than clogging pores. Eye Butter can be introduced early to protect the delicate eye area from rubbing and environmental stress.

The message for younger users: treat your skin with respect now, and you’ll thank yourself in 10 or 20 years.

Consistency and gentleness beat harsh, quick fixes every time.

  • Keys for Post-Procedure Skin (With Physician Guidance)
    Feb 26 2026

Hey, it's Bob, Today’s tip is for those who have had dermatological or cosmetic procedures—like peels, lasers, or medical treatments—and are thinking about how to care for their skin as it recovers.

First and most important: always follow your physician’s instructions. After they clear you to return to gentle skincare, Keys can be a supportive, non-irritating option.

Island Rx is often a better choice than harsh, foaming cleansers because it lacks sulfates and strong detergents. Once your doctor says moisturizers are okay, Luminos can help restore hydration and comfort without synthetic preservatives or fragrance that might irritate healing skin. For extremely sensitive or compromised areas on the body, MetaCare and Tortuga may be helpful under medical supervision.

Post-cancer-treatment or radiation patients have used Keys products successfully because of their simplicity and purity—but again, always in partnership with medical advice.

Think of Keys as your gentle partner for long-term care after the initial healing phase is complete.

  • Summer and Humid Climate Adjustments
    Feb 25 2026

Hey, it's Bob, Today we’ll look at the opposite challenge: summer and humid climates.

Heat and humidity can make heavy products feel suffocating, but your skin still needs cleansing and protection. The trick is to lighten your layers without abandoning care.

In humid weather, you might find that Island Rx plus Luminos is all your face needs during the day—no extra layers. The Aloe Vera and oils in Luminos are hydrating without being occlusive, so your skin can breathe even in sticky heat. Save Reflex or Nextra Body for night-time only, when your skin isn’t battling sweat and sunscreen.

If your body feels greasy in heavier products, switch to a thinner layer of Nextra Body alone instead of layering with Tortuga. Use MetaClean or Island Rx in the shower to remove sunscreen and salt from sweat without stripping.

Blotting papers, not harsh astringents, can handle excess shine during the day. Your skin’s needs shift with the seasons, and your Keys routine can shift with it—always anchored in gentle, natural formulas.

  • Winter Skin Survival
    Feb 24 2026

Hey, it's Bob, Today’s tip is about winter skin survival—when cold air and indoor heating tag-team your moisture barrier.

In winter, evaporation from your skin increases dramatically. That’s why your face, lips, and hands can feel tight, flaky, or even crack. Keys concentrated formulas are especially valuable in this season.

First, don’t over-wash with hot water. Use lukewarm water and Island Rx, then gently pat dry, leaving a hint of dampness. Immediately follow with a richer layer than you might use in summer: Nextra Body or Reflex first, then Luminos on top. For extremely dry skin, add a thin veil of Tortuga as the final step at night.

On the body, especially legs and hands, apply Nextra Body right after showering, then spot-treat with Tortuga where cracks or roughness appear.

Using a humidifier indoors and drinking plenty of water complements what you’re doing on the surface.

Winter doesn’t have to mean uncomfortable skin—just shift your Keys routine into “cold-weather mode.”

  • Its a Dogs Life,
    Feb 23 2026

Hey everybody, Bob Root here. Today’s episode is a little longer and is about something deeply personal to me: our dogs.

Ever since I was born, there has been a dog in my life. I honestly can’t remember a time when there wasn’t a wet nose, a wagging tail, or a pair of eyes watching to see what I’d do next. I have a deep caring for dogs and cats, and really, a soft spot for all animals, big and small. If it trusts me, I feel responsible for it. So as we developed Keys® products, it was a no brainer that we always asked, “Will this help dogs too? Can this make their lives better as well?”

One defining moment for me was Hurricane Katrina. The search and rescue dogs that went into that devastation gave everything they had. They crawled through wreckage, worked in filthy water, breathed in who knows what. When they came back, their skin was wrecked—raw, irritated, suffering. Out of that heartbreak we created RediCare, an Ayurvedic spray therapy built on Neem and Karanja oils. It gently covers large, damaged areas, calms inflammation, helps rashes, bites, burns, and scrapes, and even repels hundreds of insects. That was the beginning of what became the KODA dog line. It started with a promise: if they serve us, we will take care of them.

From there, we asked a simple question: how can we care for every part of a dog’s life, from nose to tail, inside and out?

For bathing, OmniClean is our therapeutic shampoo. It doesn’t just wash; it deposits healing oils that calm hot spots and help troubled skin long after the bath is over. It’s there for the dog who can’t stop chewing on itchy patches. ProShine is our everyday shampoo-conditioner, based on an old Welsh recipe. It rinses out fast—so you spend less time wrestling in the tub—and leaves a brilliant shine without silicone, while helping reduce itching and keeping the coat fresh. For quick cleanups, SpotClean is a waterless foam for paws and faces. Muddy walk, slobbery muzzle, peanut butter beard—wipe on, wipe off, no rinse, no drama, and no stress for your dog.

Then there’s what lives under the fur. OmniCare is a healing spray for hot spots, minor wounds, and itchy, irritated areas. One bottle you reach for when you see that frantic scratching start. OmniShield is our insect repellent therapy that also soothes bites and helps keep yeast and fungus in check, without harsh chemicals or DEET. It’s for the dog that comes in from the yard and immediately starts gnawing at a bite you never saw happen.

Inside the body matters just as much. ProBiome Liquid is a canine-focused probiotic to support digestion, healthy stool, and recovery after antibiotics. A healthy gut can mean a calmer tummy, better energy, and less discomfort. OmegaLife is our vegan “fish oil without the fish” for coat, skin, and vitality, without the odor, Vitamin A concerns, or mercury worries. LifeTrace delivers essential trace minerals modern diets often lack, supporting energy, coat health, electrolyte balance, and overall resilience, with just a few drops in the water bowl. ProFlexoil brings vegan glucosamine for joints, helping stiffness, mobility, and the aging dog who hesitates before climbing the stairs. ProCalm gently settles anxious dogs with non-sedating calm support—for the ones who shake in storms, panic with fireworks, or pace the house when life feels too loud.
For targeted skin care, MetaCare lotion, AvoJel botanical jelly, and Zinc Jel ointment give you tools for dry, cracked areas, hot spots, rashes, and minor wounds—each designed to protect and help skin repair itself. Paw pads, nose leather, sore spots under a harness, little wounds that need a safe barrier—there’s something that can help without resorting to harsh, chemical-heavy options.

There have been ups and downs over the years. In tough economic times, our pets often take a back seat. It breaks my heart to see them itch, scratch, limp, or quietly suffer from nutritional deficien

  • Preparing Skin for Special Events
    Feb 23 2026

Hey, it's Bob, Today, let’s talk about getting your skin ready for special occasions—photos, events, or important meetings.

The best time to start prepping isn’t the day before, but two weeks ahead if possible. During that time, be very consistent: cleanse with Island Rx twice daily, moisturize with Luminos, and use Eye Butter morning and night. Drink plenty of water and get adequate sleep.

Three to four days before the event, intensify hydration. At night, add Reflex to your routine or layer Nextra Body under Luminos on the face and neck. On the day of the event, cleanse gently, apply Eye Butter, then Luminos as your base. Its natural soft-focus effect will make foundation—or even just mineral powder—sit more smoothly and look more natural on camera.

Avoid experimenting with new products right before an important day. Stick to your Keys staples that you know your skin loves.

Great event skin is really just your best regular skin, given a bit of extra care and consistency leading up to the big moment.

  • Spot-Treating Dry Patches
    Feb 20 2026

Hey, it's Bob, Today’s tip is about spot-treating dry patches before they become full-blown problems.

Dry patches often appear on cheeks, sides of the nose, between the brows, or on body areas like shins and forearms. Instead of overhauling your whole routine, you can strategically target these zones with more intensive Keys formulas.

Here’s a simple approach: After your normal cleanse and apply of Luminos, go back and apply a tiny dab of Tortuga directly onto the dry patch. Gently press it in rather than rubbing. On the body, layer Tortuga over Nextra Body on those trouble spots. Do this morning and night for a week.

If the area is also red or irritated, MetaCare can be used first as a therapeutic layer, with Tortuga on top to seal it in.

By addressing dry patches early, you avoid that cycle of flaking, itching, and over-scrubbing that just makes things worse. And because Keys products are concentrated, you don’t need much—your targeted care goes a long way.

Think of this as “micro-maintenance” for your skin.
