The research, soon to be published in Home Health Care Management and Practice under the title "Beyond the Visit: What Makes Home Health Clinicians Stick and Tick," reveals that while scheduling flexibility rates highly across all disciplines, documentation remains universally frustrating—except for clinicians using cell phones, who report significantly higher satisfaction. The study found notable differences between disciplines: OTs are the least satisfied (representing only 8% of the home health workforce), while SLPs rate their job satisfaction highest despite facing larger territory challenges. Through candid discussions about workplace isolation, the importance of mentorship, and knowing what questions to ask before accepting a position, the episode emphasizes that retention isn't just about pay—it's about the daily tools, support systems, and flexibility that allow clinicians to thrive in an already demanding field.
