On April 30, a murder-suicide occurred in the 1200 block of Imperia Drive. Officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 9:59 a.m. and discovered a 53-year-old female deceased at the scene and a 74-year-old male holding a handgun. After approximately 40 minutes of negotiation attempts, the male sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he later died. This incident is being investigated as the third homicide in Henderson for 2025. The names of the deceased will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office pending notification of next of kin.
Between May 1 and May 8, Henderson police responded to several notable criminal incidents throughout the city, though specific details about these incidents are not currently available.
The past week has seen varying levels of criminal activity in Henderson. On May 17, police recorded 13 criminal incidents. May 18 saw 18 reported crimes. On May 19, officers responded to 14 criminal incidents. May 20 had 24 reported crimes, one of the highest daily totals in recent weeks. Most recently, on May 21, police responded to 10 criminal incidents.
Looking at previous trends, Henderson experienced an uptick in property crimes during late March and early April. The week of March 25 to April 1 saw numerous reports of shootings, burglaries, and vehicle thefts. Similarly, from March 31 to April 6, there were multiple incidents involving stolen vehicles, shootings, and fatal accidents.
March 29 saw the highest single-day crime count in recent months with 31 reported incidents. By comparison, April 5 had only 5 reported crimes, one of the lowest daily totals.
