This 501c3 nonprofit is the first Keep America Beautiful affiliate in the nation to focus solely on a river cleanup. Their mission is to educate and inspire people to take action to create a clean, healthy, beautiful Tennessee River for generations to come.

Listen as Kathleen shares all the ways they are fulfilling this mission, including by hosting river cleanups along the 652-mile river and its tributaries, rallying 1,700 volunteers to remove over 183,000 lbs. of trash since forming in 2016.

Anna-Vija welcomes Kristin Mejia-Greene, founder of Homeland Heart Birth & Wellness Collective, a nonprofit that creates access to doula care for black families in an effort to decrease maternal and infant mortality rates. Kristin tells us her story and how she is building an army of doulas to assist her in this mission.

In this first-ever double feature episode, Anna-Vija talks with two of her long-time friends and mentors, George Armistead and Joe White. Both George and Joe are leaders of the Nashville chapter of Kiwanis, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The club worldwide has dedicated more than 19 million volunteer hours and invested US$100 million to strengthen communities and serve children annually.
