Segment 1 – Review of the Wild Card Games
1.White Sox beat the Astros 2-0
a.The Astros got beat up. Is there window closing?
b.The White Sox are off to a strong start in the divisional series. The magic continues.
2.Yankees beat the Red Sox 2-0
a.Disappointing series for the Red Sox as the Yankees beat them on both sides of the ball. What do the Red Sox need to do to get better? Or nothing as their best pitcher returns next season and Roman Anthony should be healthy and Franklin Arias will be up?
    3.Padres beat the Cubs 2-0
a.The Cubs scored one run in 18 innings. What happened?
    4.Braves beat the Phillies 2-1
a.Aaron Nola had a good second half, but we discussed that he would crush them in the end and he did in the third and deciding game.
b.Acuna hit .111, but had a solid season, going 21-20 in only 107 games. That’s a 30-30 pace and a first round pick. Will you do it?

Segment 2 – Divisional Series – Best of 5 – Who Wins and in how many?
1.White Sox vs. Guardians – White Sox up 1-0
    2.Braves vs. Dodgers – Dodgers up 1-0
    3.Yankees vs. Rays – Rays up 1-0
    4.Padres vs. Brewers – Brewers up 1-0

Segment 3 – Arizona Fall League
Opening night was last night, and we are off and running. Here are 10 players that interest me the most, with a lean towards seeing them next season. Be prepared to talk about the Top 7 guys and whether they interest you in drafts next season.

Segment 1 and 2 – Review playoff games

    Rays beat the Yankees – 3 – 0
1.Rice and Volpe showed up, but nobody else did for the Yankees. Are you surprised that the Yankees got swept?
2.A lot of people suggesting the Yankees should move on from Aaron Boone and/or Brian Cashman. Do you think they should? Will they?

    The Brewers beat the Padres – 3 – 1
1.Did the better team just win here?
2.The Padres seem like they are in a tough spot. They are built to make the playoffs as a wild card team, but are they good enough to make it through to the World Series?

    The Dodgers beat the Braves – 3 – 1
1.People freaked out after the Braves beat the Dodgers in the second game, but they were in control in games 3 and 4. How much of a chance did the Braves really have?
2.Mahle ended the season very strong. How do you view him as a starting pitcher – Top _________ starter?
The Guardians came back from 0-2 to beat the White Sox (3-2)
1.Their White Sox luck finally ran out. Here’s my take:
1)They just strike out too much:
    Game – 3 – They struck out 19 times in 32 at-bats
    Game 4 – They struck out 12 times in 33 at-bats
    Game 5 – They struck out 21 times in 30 at-bats
    Overall – 52 strikeouts in 108 plate appearances (48% strikeout rate)!
2)They used Grant Taylor all wrong. They never pitched him for more than 2 innings in any one game for six months. They threw him four innings in game 1, and he never recovered for the rest of the series. How can you do that to your best arm?
    3)Just not enough pitching.
    2.Your thoughts?

    Guardians vs. Rays
Dodgers vs. Brewers – Yes, the Brewers are the home team

    Microsoft Teams:

Segments 1 and 2 – Review playoff games

    The Brewers sweep the Dodgers.
    1.WOW…Just WOW.
2.I’ve read a bunch of articles about the Dodgers need to make changes, etc to compete. Do you think they do?
a.They did win 100 games and their best player was hurt.
b.But, after Skubal, their great pitching just didn’t get it done. Yamamoto lasted only 2.2 innings and 75 pitches including a 12-pitch at-bat with Jake Bauers that did him in. Blake Snell was ok, but still gave up 4 earned runs in 6 innings (3 HR), and Glasnow 4 ER in 4.1 innings. Was it the Yamamoto outing that changed the tide?
c.The hitting also failed – Ohtani hit .192 but did hit a home run in game 4. Freddie Freeman hit .192, Will Smith hit .097, Teoscar - .200, Betts .207 and Max Muncy was platooned.
d.Let’s face it, they are an older team most of their players are on long-term contracts. There’s an old saying that was penned by Earnest Hemmingway in 1926 in the Sun Also Rises. Mike Campbell was asked how he went bankrupt. He answered – gradually, and then suddenly. It’s just the way it is.
e.They do have incredible talent on the farm. It’ll be interesting to see what they do in their return – no changes, promote the kids, or add some veterans. What do you think?

Rays vs. Guardians – Guards 2-1
•The Rays haven’t been able to score and the Guardians have done just enough.
    •Are you surprised?
    •How does this end?

    World Series
oTB/Cle vs. Brewers – Yes, the Brewers continue as the home team
oWho when’s and in how many games?
