Episode Notes: How to Win On and Off the Field 1. Understand the Power of a Relationship With God Coach Prime is fiercely devoted to his faith in Jesus Christ, but it’s not just a commitment. The power in his life comes from the relationship. He shared with us that every step he has been prompted to take and every promotion he has seen has come from his vibrant relationship with Jesus. He had his game and his natural ability, but his relationship with God kept him in a sequence of success. It maintained and sustained him. “I always feel like I'm in the right place. I always hear that voice that comes - that serene voice. That's why I don't have noise in my life…because the God I serve whispers to me.... see if I’ve got noise, I can't hear it. If I’ve got distractions, I can't see it. If I get chaos, I can't feel it. He whispers to me. He doesn't yell. It's just the calmness and serenity of that relationship. And that's why I have joy every day. I don't make one day much larger than the other one because every day is a blessing for me…You can't stop me. You can't contain me. You can't eliminate me from talking about my Lord of Savior…. that’s why He trusts me to put me on those stages.” 2. Even When You’re Broken, Keep On Moving Everyone faces something difficult in life. No matter what you are going through, you’ve got to keep moving. The enemy's trick is to get you to be still and silent so he can put a bullseye on your chest and get a good shot at you. You’ve got to keep moving! “The strongest steel is forged in the hottest fire. You should be thankful right now it is hot because that means you have strength. God will never allow anything to overtake you or overcome you or something that's mightier than He is…Don't stop in the middle and take selfies of yourself going through hell… you gotta keep going and keep walking.” 3. Everything You Need is Already Inside of You You have everything you need to succeed right now! You just need to get up and awaken it! The hard things we go through awaken passion and purpose inside of us and if we use that, it takes us where we are supposed to be. When you can harness that passion, people will be hanging on every word you say. Take care of yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. Deion’s shirt said it all, If you look good, you feel good, if you feel good, you play good, if you play good, they pay good. 4. Confidence Comes From Preparedness Growing up in a small church, I came to believe that humility meant I had to hold myself back. I had to break that mentality and learn you can be humble and confident at the same time. Deion models this quality so well. After attending that John Maxwell event and hearing Coach Prime speak, I left with so much confidence that I went out and landed a couple of multimillion-dollar deals within just days! Some of us need to stop being timid. Stop holding back. You can have both confidence and humility operating at the same time. Deion shared that he carries confidence because he is prepared. “I'm in my purpose. I feel like I'm walking in my anointing that everything is going forward because I'm in God's will for everything in my life… I'm prepared and I'm confident that I'm going to knock it out of the park. If I wasn't prepared, I wouldn't walk like this. I wouldn't have that inner knowing… But the people that take it for something else…allow my confidence to offend their insecurity.” Whoa! That statement really hits! Sometimes, other people’s confidence can rub us the wrong way. But we have to get over that! We need to decide to face our own insecurities. Stop holding back because you don’t want to come across as arrogant. That mentality will keep you from succeeding in your God-given abilities. Deion was confident on that football field because he was prepared. He worked hard, and he knew his game. He was ready for every play. Are you prepared for your game? Are you ready for every play? 5. You Need People Who Make You Level Up This is one of my favorite points. Proverbs 27:17 says that iron sharpens iron. ...
