In this week's episode of The Climb, we have former Iowa City West Legend and current Iowa Hawkeye Standout Patrick McCaffery. In this episode we run through a bunch of topics like the NBA playoffs, his battle with cancer and how it has affected his family and outlook on life. His high school experience and what it was like being a top recruit in a smaller state. We also get into his college experience and his relationship with his dad and brother and how that relationship works. More importantly, we get into what led into his decision to take a leave of absence from playing this season and how he has dealt with his mental health and anxiety battle. We discuss the challenges that many college athletes have when it comes to separation of identity from their sport, and how the idea of failure can help push this.
