    My amazing client, Jen, is on the podcast today to share her experience in working together.

    Jen talks about how her competitive nature left her believing if she wasn't struggling or fighting in some way that she wasn't doing it right. In this conversation, Jen shares the ways she tried managing her food in the past, getting into a fitness competition, finally reaching her breaking point, and how much this work impacted her confidence and her life outside of food.


    "When I started with her I just wanted to be able to eat pizza without panic, to stop thinking about food all day, and to stop caring so much about what everyone else thought! I got all of that and so much more. I can’t believe how different I feel from 6 months ago. I used to walk around with so much constant shame and my shoulders hunched over. I no longer do that. My entire energy has shifted. I walk, talk, and exist with more confidence. My relationships are better. I look in the mirror and think, “Look at that booty!” It has rippled out to my relationships at work, with family, and with my boyfriend. It's foreign and I am loving it! It’s like I walked out one door and into another. "

  • Ep 11: The manual for your body.

    The "manual" is the idea that we all have a set of rules and expectations for other people to follow (aka the manual).

    You probably have one for your partner, your parents, coworkers, and people you see in passing.


    When you think someone is being rude it is often because they aren't following the manual you have for how they "should" act.

    When it's your birthday and your best friend doesn't call you, you are upset because in your manual for her, that is what she should do.

    When you are driving and some dick wad cuts you off, you are angry because they shouldn't drive like that- according to your manual.

    And so on.

    The manual you have for others can lead to a lot of suffering in yourself because those other people are living by a different set of rules, that they think are the best!

    They don't have the same manual for themselves that you have for them.

    In our work together we uncovered a big underlying belief that she kept recycling through her mind which was ultimately keeping her stuck in many areas other than just food, because how we do one thing is how we do everything.
