• Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - From Hospital Halls to Home: How Gratitude and God Got Us Through
    Oct 17 2025
In today's episode, we’re reflecting on the true power of gratitude, faith, and community. Today, I’m joined once again by my father as we celebrate a monumental milestone—his return home after weeks of uncertainty, two planned procedures, and an incredible outpouring of support from so many caring hands. In this heartfelt conversation, we lay bare the ways faith has carried us through both the darkest and brightest moments. We give thanks for the countless nurses, doctors, techs, nutritionists, drivers, and every single person who stepped into our journey and made a difference. We celebrate not only recovery, but also the resilience of the human spirit, the warmth of family, and the hands of God guiding us at every turn. We’re taking it back to the basics—thanking God not just for Friday but for every moment, every breath, and every blessing. This is an episode about recognizing how truly fortunate we are, especially when we realize that the things we often take for granted are blessings so many others pray for daily. We get real about gratitude, vulnerability, and the importance of leaning on each other—whether times are good or bad. • The Return Of Cousin Ed’s Corner????
    Oct 13 2025
In this deeply personal episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on the last three weeks of my life—the first break I've taken in FOUR YEARS of bringing you consistent content. This isn't about excuses; it's about US, our humanity, and what happens when life demands that we show up differently than we planned. Sometimes stepping away is the strongest thing you can do. As my father underwent two major surgeries that led to three weeks of complications, hospital stays, and some of the scariest moments I've ever experienced. I stayed by his bedside every single night, and in doing so, I ran from the very therapy this podcast provides me. I recorded shows that never felt right to release. I tried to maintain consistency while my world was shaking. But I learned something powerful: authenticity will always matter more than anything else, and sometimes the most important content is explaining why there wasn't content. This episode is my thank you letter to every single person who sent prayers, texts, DMs, cards, flowers, and positive energy during this time. You became the battery in my back when mine was running on empty. I'm sharing what it feels like to miss your purpose, to feel things unwinding, and to have the courage to step back and recoup. I'm also talking about this morning's lesson—when I went looking for a peaceful park for my Sunday meditation and had to choose wisdom over content when the situation didn't feel safe. Tap in to hear the unfiltered truth: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment or text (762-333-2032) about a time YOU had to choose family over everything else, or when you had to step away from something you loved to protect your peace. How did you give yourself permission to be human? Let's normalize putting people over platforms and presence over productivity. We're all healing, growing, and learning together. 💙 P.S. - My dad says thank you too. Keep those prayers coming. 🙏🏾👑

    Sep 29 2025

In this episode, we're exploring the raw power of resilience and what it truly means to fight for yourself. Today, I'm sharing how my 78-year-old father is still teaching me life lessons from his hospital bed during two major surgeries. This isn't just about recovery - it's about our inner strength, and how the people we love can teach us lessons we never saw coming.

Remember when someone showed you what real strength looks like? I'm sharing how watching my dad insist on feeding himself, moving his legs, and staying mentally sharp while in pain completely transformed my understanding of resilience. Sometimes the most powerful lessons come from the people closest to us when we least expect it.

  • Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - ft Athea Vanzant 'Mental Health, Hope, And The Hands That Help Others'
    Sep 26 2025

On this episode, Dr. Athea Vanzant (aka "Essence of Poetry") took over Cousin Ed's Corner during Suicide Prevention Awareness Month with some real talk that hits different - sharing how every suicide affects at least 135 people and why that should transform how we show up for each other. This Thank God For Everything (TGIF) edition is going to move your spirit in ways you didn't expect!

This isn't just about Mental Health Awareness - this is about US recognizing that we're all "Change Agent Activists" appointed for this specific season, carrying special gifts to create positive change in our communities. Dr. Vanzant dropped some serious wisdom about how our past struggles - even the painful ones - have actually equipped and prepared us to be better advocates, friends, and community members today.

But here's where it gets practical, y'all - she's challenging us to reach out RIGHT NOW and thank someone who's making a difference. Whether it's frontline workers doing thankless jobs, community advocates grinding in silence, or that person on social media consistently speaking truth to power - she wants us to be intentional about showing gratitude with a phone call, text, or surprise visit.

The attitude of gratitude really IS the best posture, and this episode proves that community support and intentional check-ins don't just change lives - they save them. Dr. Vanzant reminded us that we're not out here alone; we have each other, and that village mentality makes all the difference in our advocacy work.

This isn't just about positive thinking - it's about combining faith with intentional action to create real change in our lives.Feeling overwhelmed by external pressures?
