A podcast for 40+ year old women named Sharnie who’ve had a hysterectomy

The lived experiences of two professional clowns who happen to both be called Sharnie (not spelled like that), who also happen to be between the ages of 40 and 45, who ALSO happen to have had hysterectomies. What? It’s way more common than you think. Someone YOU know named Sharnie has probably had one!

This podcast has absolutely no business offering any kind of medical advice, but is hopefully useful to someone who’s thinking about having, or has had, or knows someone who’s had a hysterectomy. Or is named Sharnie.

And seriously, we are not medical professionals, unless we play one on stage.

Boot the Ute was recorded in Naarm | Melbourne, on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Chanie & Sharney would like to acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, and always will be, aboriginal land.

Sharney & Chanie talk about what to expect on the recovery side of things post-hysterectomy, right before Chanie goes under the knife. This one's a pearler of wisdom, fact-checked from a handy (decades-old) document provided by the hospital.
