Today, I am happy and honored to introduce one of my friends for the very first English episode of Behind Research.

We discussed many topics, such as how he came to Sweden, especially as a non-European, how he decided to pursue a PhD and then a postdoc, and what he basically does in his daily work.

I wanted to start with him because even though we ended up in the same position, in the same lab, as postdocs, we had a totally different experiences before. I think this makes his journey particularly interesting to share with you. If you are a student, this episode shows that not everything is fixed and that you can create your own pathway.

“Le podcast où les scientifiques d’aujourd’hui parlent à ceux de demain. »

Nous nous sommes rencontrés sur les bancs de la fac, en licence, et pourtant nos parcours ont pris des directions totalement opposées. Je suis partie dans l’académique, tandis que Hasan s’est tourné vers le privé. Pendant une heure, nous avons discuté de son parcours passionnant et inspirant. Il nous raconte l’évolution de sa carrière, à la croisée entre le monde scientifique et le secteur privé.

Au fil de ses journées de travail, il a également choisi d’entreprendre une thèse, et il nous ouvre les portes du DBA, un domaine dont on parle très peu lorsqu’on est à l’université.

Au cours de notre échange, Hasan partage aussi des clés pour s’orienter vers le privé ou pour mieux construire son propre parcours scientifique. Alors j’espère que cet épisode te plaira, et je te souhaite une très bonne écoute !

Ronan n’était pas destiné à faire une thèse en sciences, et encore moins un postdoc dans un domaine qui le passionne… du moins, c’est ce qu’il pensait au début de son parcours universitaire. Pourtant, grâce à sa persévérance, à sa curiosité et aux opportunités qu’il a su provoquer et saisir, il a construit une trajectoire qui l’a mené là où il en rêvait.
