Über diesen Titel
Seventeen-year-old Elizabeth Bennet always hoped to marry for love. That is, until she surrenders to her mother’s demands and marries the handsome Duke of Leeds.
Thrust into a society disinclined to accept the "country nobody" who entrapped one of their most sought-after bachelors, her marriage of convenience is nothing like she expected. Her husband confuses her, as he hides a scandalous secret he’s reluctant to share.
Fitzwilliam Darcy is a man torn. After meeting the Duchess of Leeds at a ball, he is fascinated by her intelligence and humor, but how does one maintain a respectable friendship with a lady - particularly when that lady is the wife of his cousin and godfather?
Yet, by spending time in her company, he loses more and more of his heart to a lady he is forbidden to possess. Tormented, his feelings must stay hidden from everyone, particularly Elizabeth.
How is he to keep himself under such strict regulation when he is constantly thrown into her company? How does one prevent their own undoing?
Note: contains scenes with adult content.
©2020 Leslie Broussard (P)2020 Leslie BroussardThis was a new storyline, a very vague resemblance to the original.
It could be another story entirely. Hasn’t to do anything with P&P except the Names. But it is a variation so it is all right.
E holds herself well compared to the original, D not very much in some way. He doesn’t make any Character Development and seems to think only with the lower parts of his anatomy. He talks beautifully but he does not learn, doesn’t consider her feelings and makes E worry to much and lets her alone more than she deserves. Especially in the middle part of the story.
Out of sheer selfishness.
But he seems to have learned the “Do before you think” attitude from his Father.
He didn’t think for his family either in the End.
I do not even like D very much at all in a few parts of the story.
His ill advised and truly unbelievably stupid and absolutely useless action has lowered the fondness I had for this character.
.
I liked the start and the end of the story, but this Development was destruktiv.
It seems the author desired a little more nerve racking situations than were warranted.
And he doesn’t change his mind and insist on the meaningfulness of his action. Which I simply cannot see. E too. She forgave him much to soon. <br /
The story around the hero line was enjoyable.
The Epiloge was nice again. An End I haven’t heard before in a P& P story.
Stevie performes beautifully as always.
Good start, and with one exception it did last till the end.
