Ella is such a punching ball, and lowers herself over and over, it’s so embarrassing, how she puts all into it what she has knowing it’s all a drop on a hot stone.
I’m always astounded (I know it’s naiv) about the heartbreak the heroes in some novels put the women they supposedly love through, just to be gentlemanly.
It’s ridiculous!!!
