Don’t miss AJ Finn’s eagerly anticipated new thriller, END OF STORY!

“As the plot seizes us, the prose caresses us. . . [Finn] has not only captured, sympathetically, the interior life of a depressed person, but also written a riveting thriller that will keep you guessing to the very last sentence.” — Washington Post

The #1 bestseller that gripped the world, selling millions of copies around the globe – a tour-de-force Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a neighboring house.

It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening . . .

Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.

Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble and its shocking secrets are laid bare.

What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems.

Twisty and powerful, ingenious and moving, The Woman in the Window is a smart, sophisticated novel of psychological suspense that recalls the best of Hitchcock.

All too annoyingly written by a man. It’s impossible to get close to any of the charakters. Not even the cat seems believable. For once, and I am sorry and shocked to say so: I preferred the movie. Joe Wrights interpretation (and I know he is a man, too) *gets* the character. While he rushes the story too much, we get a chance to see a person (beautifully portrayed by Amy McAdams) with grace and nuance. Not a stand in.

Anyhow, it is thrilling and I love the plot twists. Would recommend with a grain of salt. And for A. J. Finn to maybe listen more to actual women of all ages and generally perhaps more people of varying ages and genders.. it would enrich his writing.

Voice is overacted.

Not bad, but not great either

Story slowly builds and then gets addictive..iI can highly recommend this but causes sleepless nights as I could not stop listening.

a slow start then unputtdownable

The story is masterfully told –entirely from the perspective of a manic, addicted recluse– with a well crafted plot full of twists and turns, hints, red herrings, and mcguffins. The character's backstory unfolds quite in the same slow, deliberate way. Only gradually does the reader/listener get to know the protagonist's true mental state; all the way wondering whether the action is real or just a figment.
Films noires were the author's inspiration and he did a good job at adapting the genre: the mood, the stylisation, the exaggerations – all perfectly plausible as seen through the protagonist's frantic eyes.
The narrator tried to do the same, sounding more and more hysterical as the story progresses. Great voice acting really! Only it's an audio book and not radio drama! Listening to her increasingly shrill diction for 14 hours might well drive the listener into lunacy as well.

Positively Hitchcockian.

I liked the thriller. specially the end is very good. unexpected. I am looking forward to the next thriller of A.J. Finn

great specially the end
