 This radio dramatization of the classic musical features Judy Garland re-creating the role for which she received an honorary Academy Award. It aired on December 25, 1950, a dozen years after the movie was released.

The Lux Radio Theatre was one of radio's most popular series, attracting Hollywood's top stars and boasting a lavish budget. It began in 1934 by featuring dramas from Broadway, but there was not enough material to support the show. In an attempt to reverse the slipping ratings, the show was moved to Hollywood in 1936, where there was plenty of material and talent. In fact, filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille often served as the host.

Wieder ein kleines Hörbuchjuwel aus dem Audible-Sortiment. Wer den Charme von Originalradiosendungen aus den 50Žger Jahren liebt wird von diesem Buch begeistert sein. Meine CD-Version ging leider vor Jahren kaputt und ich habe es trotz intensiver Suche nicht geschafft, die Sendung wiederzufinden. Bis heute. Vielen Dank an die Redaktion!
