Enjoyed the settings and characters
Set in Cornwall and France, with one of my favorite artists (Elisabeth Vigee Lebrun) as one of the characters in a very believable way, I really enjoyed this book. I had the audio version and Tim Campbell has the most wonderful deep voice. He gave the characters real life, although there’s an occasional strange pronunciation of the vowel A, which Tim sometimes pronounced as grAHss when it should have been hAY for some reason. However, this didn’t happen often enough to spoil my enjoyment of the story and Tim did create a beautiful French accent. I think this book works perfectly well as a standalone, even though it’s part of a series. Recommended!
