Ich bin selbst Hebamme und diese Geschichte hat mich tief bewegt.
Meisterhaft recherchiert von Emma Donoghue, ich hatte das Gefühl, vollkommen einzutauchen in die kleine Station, aber auch die Zeit der Pandemie und des ersten Weltkriegs. In Zeiten von Corona bringt es mich noch mehr zum Denken, über unsere Existenz, unser Schicksal auf dieser Welt und alles, was uns miteinander verbindet oder trennt. "Influenza delle stelle", "The Pull of the Stars", wie man es auch nennen mag....
Die Sprecherin liest einwandfrei, der irische Dialekt trägt hervorragend zur Realisierung der Erzählung bei und ich bin froh, dieses Buch gehört anstatt gelesen zu haben.

Diese Geschichte, so tragisch wie hoffnungsvoll, wird mich erstmal nicht los lassen.
