Gaiman is of course an excellent reader, but this is 30 minutes of not very interesting mystery. Not worth a credit.

so many twists in such a short tale - simply mind-boggling, will have to think about this and come back to it many times, and so I suppose the mission is indeed completed. I can't really say anything more without spoilers, so I'll just finish by mentioning Neil Gaiman's voice as 9ne that I am utterly in love with. Thank you!

Just fell over this, though being a fan of Neil already. That he is the speaker himself is just perfect. Loved it.

Hilarious

In 1959... ish Rod Serling‘s The Twilight Zone premiered with the pilot episode „Where is Everybody?“ about a lone man belonging to the USAF stumbling through a town totally deserted. The Typical for The Twilight Zone Twist is that it turns out that this is nothing but a delusion of said USAF member who is stuck in an isolation experiment.

This story is essentially that same framework updated for a post-Apollo program Age but , more importantly, an age more sensitive to mental health. Brilliantly illustrating the way how writing and the works of authors can provide a lifeline to people lost in a sense of personal isolation.

Neil Gaiman at the End of the Universe touched me personally and reminded me why I got into audiobooks and more importantly of why I love short one-off stories with a touch of existentialism. Even though the resemblance to that episode is most likely pure serendipity, it lives up to what I want out of a potential Twilight Zone reboot and in my book that is the greatest compliment I can give it.
