Ein ganz wunderbares Hörbuch. Tolle Geschichte, tolle Figuren, fantastischer Sprecher. Das einzige Negative ist, dass es der Author mit dem letzten Teil auf sich warten lässt.

It took a bit of time for me to enter into the story as it was not what I expected... I expected a herolding story of a hero or at least an individual becoming one, in a way the book is exactly that, it just took me some time before coming to that realisation 😅 once I had gotten used to the perspective I really enjoyed it! There never really was a dull moment or a moment I would have skipped.

The author can be a bit repetetive, but the way he writes is very enjoyable! You can really see the world through the eyes of Kvothe!!

Brilliant!

It starts quite slow and honestly not very good, but gets better and better. Once the characters are introduced, they are written so well and nuanced in their behaviour that a consistent and believable world is opened to the reader. While kvothe is kind of a marry sue in the past portion, his sorry state in the presence creates a nice tension for the things to come.

while the narrator does an excellent job the degree of which accents and slang are expressed makes it hard to hear what he is saying at times

one of my favorite audible books due to the Superb reading. Every (Male) character has his own voice that fits his character like a glove. impressive reading.

I love High Fantasy in general, but it can get a bit preachy. Rothfuss has avoided all the stuffy traps of the genre, creating vividly new yet believable world for his characters to inhabit — and what characters they are! But there are many reviews of the source material, and a huge fan base to sing Rothfuss’ praises. (Always excepting those who have come to hate him for delaying the final installment so long…)
The performance here is truly excellent, which was a nice surprise. I had listened to the free sample ages ago and decided against buying it because the very brief excerpt contains possibly the worst selection of slightly overdone accents and caricatured dialogue to be found in the entire 20+ hours of performance. To anyone who loves Rothfuss, please give this Audible book a chance! The acting is really thoughtful and brings a lot to the protagonist, making his voice varied yet recognizable through the many shades of experience and mood.

Sehr gute Fantasygeschichte, die deutlich vom Massenwarenfantasy abweicht. Worldbuilding tiefgründig gestaltet. Der englische Sprecher war klasse.
