As good for newcomers as for old fans of Nivens univers. The authors managed to write a story which can stand totally for itself and is by no means repeating any old story or facts.

Really an amazing story.

It’s hard to believe that three authors worked on this.
I did not engage with any of the figures - they all stayed two-dimensional and were either boring or annoying.
The plot seems to be 80-90% filler, consisting of lazily written emotional drama and cheap plot devices. Boring details are lengthily described were it is easy and straight-forward to write - other story areas that would require more research or thinking before writing lack details, in contrast.

In addition, the narrator Tom Weiner has a sort of staccato style of speaking. Not regarding speed but instead staccato regarding volume!
Sentences or words start with normal or higher than normal volume - only to then drop sharply in volume towards the end.
This makes listing to this audio book in anything but a very quiet environment impossible:
Either the loud parts hurt your ears, or the quiet part are too low in volume and you have difficulty understanding them.
