A subtle story of family, class and failure

The story of a week in Stella's life was beautifully narrated with so much attention to detail of summer life in an upper class country estate. Stella was not a main character who was easy to like with the many misfortunes that befell her and a somewhat uptight, British attitude. However, this simple story was profound and revealed the value of family and belonging in such a nuanced way.
