How law fueled the rise of capitalism
This is a book with rare explanatory power. The central tenet of the book is that law isn’t only the foundation of our capitalist society, it’s actually helped to create the very means of our current economy: capital.
Only with the help of the top echelon of lawyers was capital endowed with the crucial traits that fueled the rise of capitalism:
