yet another charming story by peneaux which I'm happy to see has been produced as an audiobook! she is indeed a master of austen variations that are as delightful, lively and witty as the original. this, unfortunately, is almost completely lost in translation as the voice actress chooses a grating singsong for her narrator. the result resembles a sermon annoyingly performed and is, consequently, hard to endure. I'm at a loss why that is. the different characters she manages to voice without this tick. but the rest of read in a way and though the sun was to lull the audience into sleep. I do hope the performer can hone her craft. mainly however, I hope for the sake of the author that the next projects will be voiced by someone else.
