both the writing and the narration are ok but sadly fail to bring me into it.

The play really gives you that Star Wars feeling of being there at great events and battles. The speaker isn’t monotone at all and tons of music, sound effects and different voices create a truly immersive experience!

I very much enjoyed this book.

It introduces new complex hero’s and villains with mysterious backstories to root for or against and I think it did a great job starting the new series.

The only problem I had was that approximately the first half of the book was quite slow at times. Although the second half more than made up for it.

Great cliffhanger at the end as well with many unanswered questions. Can’t wait for the next book to release.

If I had to describe the genres represented I’d say the book contained a healthy mix of politics, mystery, action, and western styles. So basically everything you’d expect from a Star Wars. In general, it reminded me a bit of the prequel trilogy.

I really enjoyed the story. A few aspects could have been clearer though. Especially the different attitude of the High Republic Jedi compared to the prequel era as well as the motivation of the antagonists.

Overall super entertaining!

The speaker did a fantastic job on trying to make us feel, what the characters felt. Pain and other emotions were perfect. It felt like I could really relate! Very good job on that :D

Sadly, I felt like the story was really slow for me personally. In the beginning we got to know sooo many characters, jumping from chapter to chapter you sometimes forgot about character "X" or "Y" or "Z" until you heard from them again.
In contrast to that, the ending felt super rushed to me.

In a blink of an eye (or more like while washing the dishes) it all came to an end.
With all that building up and slow paste during the beginning, I was hoping for more towards the end.
The "big finale" didn't feel like a finale at all until I realised there were only 20-30 minutes left (and until I got confirmed that that was it!).

This was my first step into the high republic and maybe it'll all make sense further down the line but we'll see..

Overall it was super entertaining. Maybe I like to point out my negative experience more than my positive. Let's just say that the choice of the speaker was 50% of the reason why I enjoyed my time with this audiobook so much.
