oldschool vr fantasy

i love this Genre, its not the greatest writing i've ever read but its a solide Story with well written likeable characters

at least He got Help

to be honest, If Michael Anderle didn't Help him, I wouldn't have listened to the end. Sometimes the author Sounds that much pussywhipped he really starts to get annoying.

idea and reader are great.

this story gets old fast.... there are VERY great parts, that cinder a spark of interest in the story... the writer takes his time to get into the story and has a very romantic way of describing the surroundings, thoughts and persons. sadly the story never picks up the pace. it is a very long driven timeline that gets it´s ups from things happening outside the mainprotagonists storyline. since the mc is a," wait for it", rouge/cleric (without drawbacks....) it is really hard to understand how he can function as such a beast. but rather than working on some explanation on how this works.... you can listen to around 15% of this story where he talks on how much he loves coffee, well and having sex.... and coffee, and how clever he himself is. 10% is dedicated towards how much he loves his family but in a rather wholsome way so i personally got no problem with that... maybe a bit much but that is fine. sadly all the distractions are what whitteling down the story to some nice 15 min storylines that could stand for themselves... sadly i have to stop at the beginning of book 3 since i can´t liten to more of "coffee-graphy"

not an NPC

the author said in the author notes that the book is about the NPC class, that they don't have an impact on the story, that they are scripted and so on. He wanted to write a book to change that. He succeeded, but failed. The main character in not an NPC but a player and by the looks of it even the hero of the story. I was hopping for a NPC story of how the NPC moved from the scripted tasks to more meaningful existence, but not to this or at least not in the first book. This book is in my opinion a basic LitRPG, nothing special about it, even the gaming parts are not so interesting and not mentioned a lot. it feels more like a fantasy book.

Ramble ramble ramble

DNF at 95%

I really can not listen to Tims rambling any longer! The „philosophical thoughts“ of a flat 20something make this book agonizingly long. There are lots of plot-holes and logic-holes, which you can not not notice, as you have so much time to see the scenery due to the rambling. The character interaction and built of especially the female characters just hurts.

I know, litRPG-books are not the most deep there are. But, this is really bad.

Bad writing

Sorry but its like a child has written the story. Very bad writing. Ecerything escaltes without a teal reason and it seems constructed. No character is belivable

No development, flat characters, no challenges

I love the genre for easy listing, but this writing is so mediocre that I had to stop in book 2.
There are no challenges for the characters - they learn a spell and boom they can defeat vampires. They are new adventures and of course, a hord of vampires is not a real challenge. A big adversary is suddenly defeated by chance incident and of course the main goddess steps by right from the beginning. And of course the best girl falls in love with him in the 2 or 3 chapter - again he didn't need to fight for her, nothing, just I suddenly like you and done.
So underwhelming.
In the first book the characters itself were likable enough to read. But with the 2nd one, he introduced a total jackass, lesbian (don't if it fits, but this just felt like clicking boxes) ranger, who kills werewolves by the dozen - I couldn't take it anymore.
sorry - just wasted time, even for cleaning the house.
