I was so happy to hear a South African accent as the narration started. Listening to this book made me feel nostalgic and happy. Perfect combination of laughs and tears and just a wonderful experience overall. Great narrator and even more wonderful story!

Who else but Sandra Prinsloo to read this lovely book? it's a pity that she wasn't chosen to act the part in the TV adaptation. Sally Andrew's way with words has woven a magical colourful picture of life in the Karoo. I will be reading more of her books. <3
