JoJo wrote this book without a ghostwriter. The result is one of the most brutally honest autobiographies by a singer that I have read/ listened to. She is not afraid of calling herself out for her mistakes, telling us about her troubled family history and the twisted music industry. With all of this underlying heaviness, this story leaves you wanting to take control of your own narrative. It is an inspiring story of rediscovering your voice and breaking with generational trauma.

This memoir isn’t just for her fans, but anyone who is willing to take the time to listen. It’s a story of growth, hardships, vulnerability turned into strength, defying odds and reclaiming power. Being a huge fan of JoJo’s myself, I was left with an even bigger feeling of the utmost respect and admiration for her strength, resilience, bravery and overall story. We knew what she’s been through, but we didn’t know half the story. And it’s not just her story that makes you wanna keep listening - it’s that comforting tone in her voice that creates such a safe space around you and feels very therapeutic. I never got through a book so fast and felt so inspired and at ease at the same time. So take the time to listen, you’ll love it too!
