Über diesen Titel

O2E CEO Warren Buffett spends 80% of his time thinking. Tim Armstrong, CEO of AOL, makes his executives devote 10% of their day, or 4 hours per week, to thinking. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg are both well known for taking week-long 'thinking' retreats.

In More Time to Think, Nancy Kline demonstrates that the quality of everything we do depends on the quality of the thinking we do first. The leaders, entrepreneurs and business people who understand this are at the top of their fields and inspire some of the most successful and innovative practices and businesses in the world.

In this audiobook, Nancy Kline shares 10 effective ways to help people think innovatively, and with rigour. From learning that the mind works best in the presence of a question, and that a key factor in the quality of a person's thinking is how they are treated by the people around them, to the importance of appreciation, Nancy Kline shows how to create a successful 'Thinking Environment', whether for two people, a start-up, or a larger organisation.

Kritikerstimmen

"As we make sense of change in the 21st century, a deep understanding of the Thinking Environment should be part of every leadership development programme. It intrinsically values the contribution and humanity of each person, and drives team effectiveness. Its power is evident in higher quality relationships, as well as in shorter, smarter meetings." (Rosemary Grant, Statutory Director, Johnson & Johnson Medical UK)

"When you change the way you think, you change everything. In my work and my life the Thinking Environment has made all the difference." (Scott Farnsworth, President, SunBridge Inc., USA)

Great book, at the end a bit repetitive and more philosophical than concrere but not the leas true.
Just listening to the first 10 chapters will likely have a positive impact on most people.

Very useful

It is the first time I write a negative review, but I think I have to.
There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the messages contained in this book, but also nothing dramatically new or that goes beyond what I judge to be common sense.
Something that I definitely not liked is that some real events are reported in the book in an incorrect way, just to make them better fit what the author is trying to convey. One example: The large airline crash occurred in 1977 at the Tenerife Airport is said "almost certainly to have been caused by the pilot's rejection of Equality in the cockpit". This is far from being true, as the investigation identified the reason of the accident in an unfortunate combination of unclear radio communications, bad visibility conditions, and other misunderstandings. Reducing all these factors to the arrogance of a single person - as the author suggests - is either a sign of poor knowledge of the events she claims to report, or an attempt to shape, omit and oversimplifying facts till the false becomes true.
