K. F. Breene is one of my all-time favorite writers. Her characters are snarky, yet lovable and her stories just amazing. And Nicole Poole breaths life into it all with her great reading.

And here it is. The thing the first book surprised us by not being. This is now Twilight for 40 somethings. No attempt at having a non-romance plot just all romance all the time, while making no sense with world building and using long disproven nonsense like "alphas" in its own internal sexism.

Even the narrator seems bored at times, because about 20% of the time she switches to a mechanical machine like voice I like to call a "Kate Reading Voice", which just drags all tension out of every sentence.

It turned into everything we feared
