I was keen to see how the series would continue after the heavy ending of the battle and the mages leaving. Somehow Mrs. Breene managed to find the perfect balance. It is not the funniest book in the series but it is also not as melancholy as it might have been. Giving the gang a new location to visit and letting Jessy confront her past before going back to more serious problems was a perfect.
