The story developes pretty slow. I like that the Edens as a family finally get to have some flaws. This time they‘re not portrait as this utopian perfect family.
The male narrator ist kind of horrible, though. I cringed so hard that I almost couldn‘t finish listening.

Male narrator unbearable to listen to. Everything was narrated in suspense like tone. Couldn’t finish it, had to stop after a couple of chapters. Since D. Perry is an excellent writer I read the book instead. Loved the story.

So imma just say it: this particular books had a pacing issue. The previous ones were set up well, but this time DP had a deadline or something.


The love story was like paced super weirdly and the MMC was acting weird just all ober the board, like not even trying to interact with the family, when hes the one wanting yo keep up the charade.
The villain came in way too late, almost an afterthought and soon as he was established, he was swiftly handled and boom story over.

3 stars for what this book is worth.
(+1 extra star in my heart for the fun i had regardless of its issues.)
