Am relevantesten

This book made me feel less weird and alone. Rachel Bloom is smart and funny, but does not use her humor and wit to create a distance between herself and difficult things she talks about. I especially loved hearing her talk about her experience as an artist - identifying with her work and performance, realizing that there is always someone who does "your thing" better than you, switching lanes and trying to find your place (plus sexism and workplace bullying), ... She talks about her mental health journey in a way that is accessible to me, because it's not vague or esoteric and doesn't sugercoat anything and writes herself neither as a noble hero and/or victim nor as a villain. Her personality, her body, her sexuality, her work - nothing is off limits in this book and nothing is just perfect and nothing is just ugly and irredeemable either.
