Über diesen Titel

Through a blend of compelling exercises and stories, the bestselling author of Thinking in Bets will train you to combat your own biases, address your weaknesses, and help you become a better and more confident decision-maker.

What do you do when you're faced with a big decision? If you're like most people, you probably make a pro and con list, spend a lot of time obsessing about decisions that didn't work out, get caught in analysis paralysis, endlessly seek other people's opinions to find just that little bit of extra information that might make you sure, and finally go with your gut.

What if there was a better way to make quality decisions so you can think clearly, feel more confident, second-guess yourself less, and ultimately be more decisive and be more productive?

Making good decisions doesn't have to be a series of endless guesswork. Rather, it's a teachable skill that anyone can sharpen. In How to Decide, bestselling author Annie Duke and former professional poker player lays out a series of tools anyone can use to make better decisions. You'll learn:

To identify and dismantle hidden biases.
To extract the highest quality feedback from those whose advice you seek.
To more accurately identify the influence of luck in the outcome of your decisions.
When to decide fast, when to decide slow, and when to decide in advance.
To make decisions that more effectively help you to realize your goals and live your values.

Through interactive exercises and engaging thought experiments, this audiobook helps you analyze key decisions you've made in the past and troubleshoot those you're making in the future. Whether you're picking investments, evaluating a job offer, or trying to figure out your romantic life, How to Decide is the key to happier outcomes and fewer regrets.

*This audiobook includes a downloadable PDF of interactive exercises and engaging thought experiments.

This is not one of that books full of Theories and vague stories. Instead, Annie made easy to understand this complex topic and gave a lot of practical and actionable advices.
I wish I would have read this book 10 years ago and my life would be so much easier.
She did a incredible job explaining every chapter.
I super recommend, is a must read for who wants to make better decisions, decide faster and understand in which things you should be spending your time and energy on to decide.
Five star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A must Read for everybody

As someone who has studied informatics, worked in Data Mining, and read 'Thinking fast and slow' this audiobook had little to offer for me.

There are quite a few basic concepts in the beginning (like decision trees), but for the first 4 hours, I was mostly bored. The fifth hour was kinda interesting and delivered some of the promised tools. The last was just a wrap-up.

The most positive thing I remember about the book is that the PDF is meant to be used and copied. Don't get me wrong, it is not that the book is bad, it is just that I expected something more advanced and this book is mostly about the most common errors and how to avoid them.

Not bad, but did not match my Expectations

There are some cool concepts, but it could have been done in 2-4 hours. I see that the last chapter is 1h just about not influencing the opinion of a person whose opinion you want to know, something that sure is important, but already mentioned a lot, and i don't want to spend more time since it already was too long. so il skip the rest.

Meh

50% of the book explains the concept of expected returns.

Risk sometimes hides behind the obvious. There is no free lunch. Even if it seems like a free roll, you pay with tail risk

The book is good but not as good as her last one.

Talks about the obvious
