Über diesen Titel
Gilgamesh, son of the goddess Ninsun and the mortal Lugalbanda, is the arrogant king of the vibrant city of Uruk, a sprawling desert metropolis. In an attempt to quell Gilgamesh’s oppressive behavior, the gods fashion the wild man, Enkidu, to be a companion to the king and to calm his errant ways. The two form an inseparable bond, embark on a wild misadventure, and commit a series of blunders that offend the very gods who created Enkidu. What happens next sends Gilgamesh on an epic journey to find his ancestor, Utnapishtim the Faraway, to learn his story of survival and unlock the secrets of immortality.

Mrs Tamara retells the epic of Gilgamesh adding her own touch to the story. The epic itself is captivating, but I tried to read it from a translation of the ancient tablets and as someone with no background in mesopotamian mythology, I simply couldn't follow who is who and what exactly is happening. This book filled that gap and then some. The author not only properly introduces each character, but a couple of minutes in, you also get a feel of what their personality is like. The epic is retold in an easy to digest way and the author's touch only add to the story. When I have kids, I will definitely use this book as a bedtime story (maybe will omit some of the gore-y stuff though)
Narration:
The author narrates the story herself. Her voice is very steady and her reading is 10/10.
Overall:
Great story, very enjoyable interpretation of the events and the characters' motives, and a very comfortable narration. Definitely a recommended buy.
