Inhaltsangabe

Robert Kiyosaki - author of the #1 personal finance book of all time - has built a legacy around simplifying complex and often-confusing subjects like money and investing. He continues to challenge conventional wisdom and asks the questions that will help listeners sift through today's information overload to uncover ways to assess what's real... and what isn't. And use truth and facts as a foundation for taking control of their financial lives.

In this new book, Robert fights what’s "fake" and helps listeners differentiate between what’s real...and what isn’t.

Robert pulls no punches in his assessment of what is passed off as "fact" or conventional wisdom and believes that a strong foundation - for anything we want to build - needs to start with solid, true information. In today’s uncertain times, creating a secure financial future and the peace of mind that comes with it starts with taking action and taking control.

In FAKE: Fake Money, Fake Teachers, Fake Assets, Robert delivers insights and answers that help ordinary people - who probably haven’t had a lot of financial education - determine what’s "real" and relevant to their financial lives.

Every day we are bombarded with news reports and information and opinions... How do we decipher fact from fiction? How do we differentiate between truth and lies? And determine what’s real... from what isn’t? Kiyosaki believes that it starts with education, financial education designed to make us smarter with our money - and able to fight what’s fake and use what isn’t to secure our financial future.

Don't buy the snake oil

So I first was taken aback by Kiyosaki using terms like "God's money" and "people's money". It sounded very idiological. And money, wealth, etc. is not about any idiology. It's about facts. So when it comes to books about money, I expect adherence to facts. Kiyosaki calls fiat money fake. He says it's being used by the rich to get richer and to keep the poor poor and make them poorer. So far so good. So it's fake and it's being used to control the poor masses. And then he quotes the Bible. Which, of course, is exactly the same thing. It's a fake story about a made up guy, used to control the masses. But, I thought, okay... He's probably just one of those people who are rational about most stuff, apart from religion. Whatever. But then he comes out with this little stroke of genius, when talking about history being "fake truth": I'm pretty much quoting here: "History is made up of two words. His Story." Are you kidding me? This has to be a joke, surely? No, it's not. This guy who has set out to teach me about the REAL facts of money is not only stupid about English. He's also too lazy to pick up a dictionary or google the word "history". Spoiler: it has nothing to do with the English pronoune "his". It's Greek. In addition to that he poses (or has readers pose) questions about "the imminent emergency" that will wipe everything out and how to best prepare for it. His answer is always some wishy-washy BS about "you should be on the lookout". Well sorry, but that was not the question. I had to stop the audiobook and return it to Audible. It's a disgrace. I'm not touching anyhting else by this author with a ten foot pole.

No value

Almost the same book as Rich Dad Poor Dad with one additional advice: Buy gold at any price and ignore a possible loss in purchasing power. May work if you’re rich but regular people don’t get anything out of this book.

Spoilerwarnung!!!

Das Buch hat mich nicht wirklich überzeugt. Es basiert zum größten Teil auf das andere Buch von Robert K. "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". Zusammenfassung des Buches: Investiere in Gold oder Silber! Alles andere ist Fake.
