The Great Time War has raged for centuries, ravaging the universe. Scores of human colony planets are now overrun by Dalek occupation forces. Although the War Doctor's motto is "No more", we definitely need more War doctor stories!

The story has great pacing and the stakes are high. Gives us a good perspective of the War Doctor and why he did not take the name on that regeneration.

A must listen!

Nicolas Briggs voiced the War Doctor so marvelously that I had to check if John Hurt saß really not speaking himself. Grand story, great Daleks voices and a wonderful Nicolas Briggs.

I needed quite a while to be in a war-doctor-ish mood, but now that I finally finished the book, I'm very satisfied. I think George Mann got him in a nutshell - which is either a stroke of a genius author or a stroke of luck, thinking that the War Doctor probably had the least screen time an incarnation had ever had.

The story, unsurprisingly, is very dark and some descriptions are very graphic and quite disturbing, and thinking about the time and incarnation it depicts, it actually can't be anything else, but I nevertheless enjoyed it.

And, as always, Nicholass Briggs is actually a 6-to-7-stars - narrator.
