Great use of anecdotes to share and explore concepts surrounding the term discipline. Highlights the importance of temperance - not to slide into one extreme (no control) or the other (overly rigid discipline).

And author should really get his facts straight. Especially the Germany and migrants... Come on now, look up the real state of things before praising somebody .

I’ve now read all of Ryan‘s titles and just like all a the others, this didn’t disappoint. Stoicism is like Ryan suggests, the antidote to the difficulties and challenges modern life throws at us, Excellent book, thanks.
