When a number of leading scientists disappear without trace, concern grows within the international intelligence community. Are they being kidnapped? Blackmailed? Brainwashed?

Not brilliant but entertaining!
This is certainly not one of Agatha Christie's best works, but the story remains interesting from start to end. Also, it is always a pleasure to listen to Emilia Fox ;)

However: Everybody who expects a story full of reasoning and deductions like Mrs Marple or Hercule Poirot - CAREFUL, this is one of Christie's political thrillers. And although I love her other work, her political thrillers are always highly absurd.
There is none of that logic, that we love so much in her crime stories. Here, it is all spies, people forming new world orders, communists, fascists, idealists and all of that, combined with very unrealistic settings of what is basically a secret underground town.
And though in some ways rather similar to "Passenger to Frankfurt" (A.Christie), I enjoyed "Destination Unknown" a great deal more because the characters have more charm.

All in all: When you know what to expect, this audiobook can be very entertaining.
You just need to ask yourself: "Am I able to lean back and enjoy Christie's romantic idea of politics and spying? Or am I going to suffer from lack of logic?"

Political thriller: Careful, no regular Christie
