Die Geschichte der Erorberung Mexikos wird recht spannend dargestellt. Die dabei benutzte Sprache ist teilweise aber auch für ein populärwissenschaftliches Werk etwas zu umgangssprachlich. Auch auf eine Quellendiskussion wird nahezu verzichtet. Geht aber alles in Ordnung.
Was leider wirklich nicht so gut ist, sind der Sprecher, der denke ich kein professioneller Sprecher sein kann, und die Qualität der Aufnahme, die häufig in der Lautstärke und dem Raumklang variiert. Auch dies klingt leider sehr amateurhaft.

of a modern man. It doesn't consider the fact that it was a war and a conquest, and they were warriors and not philosophers, no mercy was expected or given by both parties. But the writer takes the simplistic approach of considering the conquistadores just as bloodthirsty thieves, ignoring how they risked their lives (which many lost) into the unknown and always greatly outnumbered and thousand of miles away from any friendly city or post, and how they combined bravery and military and diplomatic events to win the war.
