    Inhaltsangabe

One alpha man. One bossy woman. A fire that won’t die.

Once upon a time, Amelia was my everything. Until she wasn’t.

I’m home now, and I want her back. She’s never forgiven me for something I didn’t even do. I’ve never forgiven her for believing the worst.

One look and the years apart go up in smoke. She’s all I ever wanted. A snappy attitude and the nerve to bring me to my knees.

Now we have seven years of bitterness tangled up between us. Yet, I can’t stay away. The fire burns too hot.

This is my second chance. I won’t back down. She’ll be mine. For keeps this time.

Burn for Me (Into The Fire, book 1)

I have read a number of J. H. Croix's book/series set in Alaska. I especially like the interactions of characters between the series. Although not one of her stronger stories, due to a few contrived situations that suspended belief; Amelia being hard to take sometimes, due to extreme stubbornness - and an antagonist that was more of an annoying afterthought, all in all, it was okay.

The audio version was well done. Although Ms. Newton seemed overly dramatic in introducing her chapters, both narrators mastered the various characters with finesse. Ms. Newton's performance of some of the male voices during her "Amelia" chapters were quite remarkable - to the point I forgot a female was doing the characterisations. Mr. Snow in his "Cade" chapters gave a rich overall quality to the performance.
