NATIONAL BESTSELLER • In this spellbinding novel, Lestat, rebel outlaw, addresses the tribe of vampires, telling us the mesmerizing story of how he became prince of the vampire world, and of the formation of the Blood Communion, and how his vision for the Children of the Universe to thrive as one, came to be.

Lestat takes us from his ancestral castle in the snow-covered mountains of France to the verdant wilds of lush Louisiana, with its lingering fragrances of magnolias and night jasmine; from the far reaches of the Pacific’s untouched islands to the 18th-century city of St. Petersburg and the court of the Empress Catherine. He speaks of his fierce battle of wits and words with the mysterious Rhoshamandes, proud Child of the Millennia, reviled outcast for his senseless slaughter of the legendary ancient vampire Maharet, avowed enemy of Queen Akasha, who refuses to live in harmony at court and who threatens all Lestat has dreamt of....

I love all Anne Rices books, and enjoyed her audio books, however I felt that the narrator didn't match Lestat or Lestats personality. His voice just didn't go with the character. The French pronunciations weren't always correct, and didn't portray the voice of a vampire in his twenty year body. I like the story, but just couldn't dip into it the same way I have with other Anne Rice books, because the voice just didn't match.

Good story, performance could have been better

I had to bet used to the new narrator, but after a few chapters he was the brat prince, the damnest being , finally coming into his own with all the people he loved and sometimes battled so much. In the end he finally believed with his whole being that only unconditional love could and will sustain him and all the children of the moon and stars through the millennia, him and his beloved Louis, his mentor Marius, his independent mother and all the others we came to love so much during these chronicles. May they live forever in happiness as the witnesses and mirrors of our human world

What a beautiful and fitting end for the Vampire chronicles and my beloved prince Lestat
