Die Protagonistin ist eine Kommissarin, die nach einem Belästigungsvorwurf gegen einen hohen Polizei-Offizier in der Nachtschicht der Kriminalpolizei strafversetzt wurde und nun nur noch Nachts Verbrechen aufnehmen durfte um sie dann am nächsten Morgen den Ermittlungsteams zu übergeben.
Nach drei großen Problemen in einer Nacht fing sie aber selbst an zu ermitteln. Der erste Fall der Nacht, ließ sich lächerlich leicht lösen, weil der Täter seine eigene Adresse auf dem silbernen Tablett servierte. Der zweite Fall, eine Körperverletzung wird dann richtig düster, es gibt eine Entführung mit viel "ich quäle Dich zu Tode" Gewürz.
Aber auch noch der letzte Fall, bei dem etliche Menschen in einem Club zu Tode kamen bleibt nicht verschont, obschon gleich zwei Task Forces an der Sache arbeiten.
Wäre nicht der erstklassische Erzählstil des Autors wären es nur 3 Sterne gewesen. Die Sprecherin war ok.

A good read, a lot of details, there is thrilling action and interesting secrets are uncovered. Still, some of the characters seem very bland and not very likable, not even the main protagonist. May be I am so tuned into Harry that to like Renee it takes more time.
