Unless Fitz can find Verity and help him in his quest, the Six Duchies will perish and there will be no safe place to live.

4. Time reading/ hearing the book, still love every part of it. It is long, but more in a Lord of the ring Kind of way, where an interesting world and story develops over time.

Eine insgesamt schöne Geschichte, aber das Ende lässt einen leicht unbefriedigt zurück. Vielleicht ist das beabsichtigt, da es ja noch viele andere Bände zu Robin Hobbs Welt gibt. Kann man sich gönnen. Der Sprecher ist gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Die Verlängerung der Geschichte, die bereits nach dem ersten Teil in ihren grundlegenden Zügen hinreichend ausgetreten war, geht in die nächste Runde. Der Autor kommt nicht zum Punkt und die sideplots sind gekünstelt und ziehen die Geschichte ohne Not in die Länge. Dabei liegt der Ausgang der jeweiligen Nebengeschichte nach den ersten Zeilen schon auf der Hand. Für alle die es noch nicht gelesen haben: Lebenszeit ist begrenzt.

Never in my life have i seen a woman hating her own kind like Robin Hobb does. You could cut down the 40 hours to 10 and wouldnt miss much. There is so much repetition and longwinded whining in this book, i would bet that no editor ever reviewed it.

An excercise in misery and boredom

I just finished listening to the whole Farseer-trilogy.
The last book has the same strengths and weaknesses as the ones before.
The best thing about the books is the main character: Fitz. It's description is nuanced and in the course of the books you learn a lot about his feelings. Maybe too much. The plot is okay. The reader is okay. The dialog quality is ok. There were too many repetitions which were annoying to me. The pace of the book is very, very slow. Then suddenly in the last two hours of its 35 hours running time, more things happen and are concluded than in the 33 h before. This feels very imbalanced.
Overall verdict: this book is a bit above average for a fantasy book. In hindside I regret that I invested that much time and that I have not spend all of this hours listening to better books.
