. . ) This is all the German I dare try to write. Now, English: I have just written PALETTE KNIFE: A Novel of Love, Intrigue, and Nazi Terror. Naturally, the timeframe in this historical novel would interest Germans especially. The spine of this book is the Nazis and Adolf Hitler making war on the modern imagination--through smashing German Expressionism, represented by my main character, Max Bauer--war hero and celebrated painter. It is inspired and based upon true, historical, German events and gets into the personal life and the psychosexual jungle of top Nazis--including the self-styled artist Adolf Hitler. Give it a try . . . Palette knife had just been released as a riveting audiobook. To view the U-tube trailer for great samples use this link: https://youtu.be/-tfaAGEV4hU I also wrote "Subversion; Life on the Edge--of Eternity" in 2014, a paranormal thriller novel about a dark conspiracy to destroy humankind through subversion of a huge government vaccine program near Washington DC; "A Pool, A Suitor, A Cellist", the first in a series of handy novelette trilogies subtitled: "Bright Shadows Series: Novelette Trilogies for Busy Folks"--these are short and strange novels in a "Twilight Zone" like style; and the third, "Lonely Pines" subtitled, "A Medical Short Story Wherein the Future Rescues the Past," a bizarre tale about a busy ER doc who encounters a patient that medical school never prepared him for. All are in Kindle, paperback (except "Lonely Pines"), and on tremendous audiobooks versions through the quality companies Audible.com (Amazon) and I-Tunes (Apple). I am a physicIan by background who is now into health management. I enjoy writing very much, and have written a screenplay in the past. I like to use that style with my novels, very visual and with action because I think action defines character. And by action, I don't necessary mean a car chase, but a purposeful physical act that symbolizes significant choice and attitude in a character. The narrators of my audiobooks are extremely talented, and I hope that you find these great listening during your commutes or other busy activities (or just relaxing!).You may also reach my personal author website at: rmanolakasaudiobooks. jimdo.com). "A Pool, A Suitor, A Cellist" is my latest book and is comprised of three short novels--each in three convenient parts for handy reading or listening. The tales are bizarre and thought provoking, and may have surprise endings. If not, you'll enjoy the ride (maybe even more) and the irony. These quick reads harken back to the days of the great TV series, "Twilight Zone", "One Step Beyond", and "The Outer Limits". The audiobook version is riveting. "Subversion" is a paranormal thriller/suspense novel that has at its core the modern nightmares of extreme violence, wars, false identity, and betrayal. Why do these happen with such force and regularity in humankind--and throughout our history? Despite this, there is a lot of good in the world worth fighting for, and the main character--Collin De Guise--does so indeed. He is a medical researcher who works on a vaccine for a catastrophic virus which rampages through Africa, killing hundreds of thousands of children--the "Vampire Virus". To make the vaccine, he has to culture and grow the actual "wild" type virus in the lab--where an even more terrible serotype could be produced. What if it got loose? What if it not only gets loose, but it is supposed to get loose? That is the spine of the story. The full length novel and one of the Novelettes (short novels) in my "Bright Shadows" volume has as part of its subject matter some period background involving the past in Germany when the Nazis were either coming to power or in power, and although this may be done too much from time to time, I think the readers in Germany may find this of special interest--I hope so. Of course, the people involved are portrayed negatively, but with taste and unusual vantage points. I enjoyed writing "Subversion" because I think you can appreciate this book on different levels. There is suspense, action-adventure; serial murder, a love story of sorts, and a techno-medical thriller all rolled into one. There are also deeper meanings embedded within the story if you want them, and paranormal/occult undertones that really are only incidental to the story. The plentiful female characters in this story are strong and masterful, and a few very sexy. "Lonely Pines" is a science fiction short story of an old man trying to save a young doctor in a way that I hope entertains you and also gives you a little tingle down your spine. Try it on audiobook. "Orangutan Butt-burn Diet is a marvelous little book on diet and exercise, give it a try too. I enjoy reading (of course), old movies and epics, some sports, and cooking. I live in South Orange County, CA. Before I sign off, I want you all in Germany to know that I was recently in Berlin and loved it! It is one of the most interesting and beautiful cities in the world, and is teeming with history, art, and fun life! I find the Germans very nice. I hope you find my books chilling but entertaining--and with bright spots mixed with the dark ones. Enjoy!
