Dave co-hosted 222 episodes of the hugely popular Sitcom Geeks podcast, exploring every angle of what makes good comedy writing great. He has spent nearly four decades as a leading light on the British comedy scene. In the 1980s he was short-listed for the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Performer award and co-founded the Comedy Store Players in London with Mike Myers and Paul Merton. As well as performing more than 2,000 gigs as a stand-up comic, he was lead singer with the world’s first Jewish Heavy Metal Band Guns’n’Moses. He became a full-time comedy writer in 1994 and since then has written for dozens of TV and radio shows. He’s best known for his hugely popular song lyrics for the hit BBC show Horrible Histories, which has won 8 BAFTA awards.
