Anika Munshi

Anika Munshi is a Licensed Professional Counselor,
community educator, and founder of Sukoon
Counseling. Her work sits at the intersection of Islam,
psychology, spiritual formation, family systems, and the
lived realities of American Muslim communities.

She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and a
Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from The Islamic
Seminary of America. She’s currently pursuing doctoral
work in Counselor Education and Supervision, where
her research interests include spiritual identity, moral
maturity, and the formation of American Muslim
identity.

Anika’s writing is shaped by clinical work, Islamic
studies, community organizing, motherhood, and the
experience of navigating inherited faith, family systems,
and the search for lived clarity. Her work explores how
Muslims move from fear-based religious performance
toward rushd: spiritually mature, internally grounded
faith before Allah.

She’s the founder of Sukoon Circles, a digital
community cultivating rushd through ṣuḥbah for
Muslims seeking honest conversation, spiritual clarity,
and lived faith.
