When Stanley drops out of agricultural college to join the Navy, he's shipped off to the Pinwheel to complete his training as a UNN Marine. She's big, tough, and more than a little scary, but he'll have to find a way to befriend her if he wants to complete the program.

Die Geschichte ist interessant, wenn auch etwas kurz. Dadurch wirken einige Punkte in der Beziehung zwischen den beiden MC etwas sprunghaft. Frau Black hat eine großartige Stimme aber ich hätte mir gewünscht das der männliche Part auch von einem Mann gesprochen wird. Frau Black hat zwar ihr bestes geben, aber ihre Stimme ist einfach nicht für einen Soldaten geeignet, der gerade seine masochistische Seite entdeckt. Aber als Verführerin macht sie einiges her. Auch in den Kampfszenen konnte sie gut Spannung vermitteln.
Alles in allem ein gutes Hörbuch das davon profitiert hätte wenn es doppelt so lang gewesen wäre.

I am completely and utterly consumed by the audiobook of "Pinwheel." To give you an idea of how hard this story gripped me: I have listened to this book 4 times in the last 3 days. The very first time the credits rolled, I didn’t even hesitate—I immediately hit play and listened to the entire thing again, back-to-back. I have never been so obsessed.
🌌 The Story & The Heat
The sci-fi world-building is brilliant, immersive, and fresh, but let's talk about the real star of the show: the romance. The enemies-to-lovers tension in this book is absolute torture in the best way possible. The chemistry between the characters doesn't just sizzle; it practically melts your headphones. And when that tension finally snaps? Wow. The author does not shy away from the heat. The sex scenes are fully descriptive, incredibly passionate, and written with breathtaking intensity. It is the perfect blend of high-stakes plot and pure, unadulterated spice.
🎙️ The Narration
A massive amount of credit goes to the narrator, Bordeaux Black. This voice actress is an absolute goddess! Her voice is pure velvet, and she brings so much emotion, grit, and raw sensuality to the characters. She knows exactly how to pace the intense action scenes and how to deliver the spicy moments to make your heart race. I would listen to her read a grocery list, but hearing her read this book was an experience.
💥 The Verdict
I simply cannot get enough of this world. I was so desperate for more that I went straight to the Audible app and bought every single book by this author I could find. If you want a sci-fi romance that delivers a phenomenal plot alongside unapologetic, top-tier spice, do yourself a favor and get this audiobook immediately.
