One night, I was attacked in my home. The fire...it raged out of control. I survived the inferno, but my house burned to the ground - with my parents inside. I was at a loss to explain to the courts what happened, and they sent me to prison for 10 years for manslaughter. Now I'm out on parole, and all I want is to return to my home town and rebuild my life; but the man who attacked me is back to finish the job he started.

My name is Richard Riley, and all I ever wanted was a second chance. I made mistakes when I was younger. I went to prison. I served my time, and now I’m trying to build an honest life from what remains. Then someone frames me for a crime I didn’t commit. The police are closing in. The people behind it want me dead. And they are willing to hurt everyone I care about to force me into the open.

My name is Kyle Chase. I had a bright future as a heart surgeon until an accident brought my world crumbling down. Just as I started to get my life back together, I stumbled onto a conspiracy that began thousands of years ago, a secret my family tried to keep hidden from me. Now, the conspirators want me out of the picture. They will stop at nothing to silence me.

My name is Serena Rogers. When I escaped from juvenile detention, I wanted only one thing: to get as far away from home as possible and never look back. Then I discovered the secret that has haunted my family since before I was born. Everything I believed about myself was a lie. Now I am caught between the life I tried to escape and a hidden war I never knew existed. An army of revolutionaries is gathering, and they believe I belong with them.

My name is Frank Hollingsworth. I joined the police force because I wanted to make a difference. Instead, many of my choices made life worse for the people around me. For twenty-five years, I searched for meaning. I kept believing there had to be a reason for the suffering, the mistakes, and the lives I could not save. I never found one.
