A short tale of horror out in the Canadian wilderness by Algernon Blackwood, where a prosaic hunting trip turns into an adventure of confusing and twisted horror. Four men, Doctor Cathcart, Simpson his nephew and their guides Hank and Defago venture into the Canadian bush in search of Moose...

Part lawman, part tracker and part magician, the Wardens are monster-hunters - tasked with protecting the people from the various, nightmarish creatures that have invaded the world of men. However, despite being descended from a long line of Wardens, 16-year-old Errol Magnus believes it to be the absolute worst job on the planet: How could a single occupation simultaneously be the most boring, abominably stupid, and extraordinarily dangerous profession imaginable?

Deep in the remote Canadian wilderness, a group of moose hunters make their way further into the woods. Rumors of a terrifying human-like monster that lurks in the forest are dismissed as mere “superstitions.” But, as their isolation becomes more apparent, they begin to smell something foul and feel shadows creeping in on them like slow death. After having “seen the Wendigo”, how long will they be able to survive?

Enter the strange, whispering world of Algernon Blackwood, one of the most influential masters of supernatural and cosmic horror. The Collected Short Stories of Algernon Blackwood brings together some of his most enduring and unsettling works—stories where nature itself becomes conscious, hostile, and profoundly unknowable.

Trata sobre en este caso un ser que habita en lo profundo de una tierra poco explorara, una representación de la llamada de la naturaleza que puede llevarnos a la locura.
